Job Details
The Role:
Ed Davey MP is looking for a highly motivated full-time Caseworker to join his busy
constituency office. A demanding role responding to constituents' casework enquiries. The position is suitable for someone who enjoys problem solving, has excellent interpersonal skills and is highly organised. It would be ideal for someone with some knowledge of housing, immigration, welfare benefits and public services but those seeking a change of role may be considered if they have transferable skills useful to this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce reports
- Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate
- Respond professionally, sensitively and with integrity to large numbers of queries from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required
- Draft responses to constituents
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation
- Ensure each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
- Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases
- Log all cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
- Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
The following skills/characteristics are essential:
- Organisational, case management and time management skills
- An appreciation of the importance of attention to detail and a thorough approach to completing work
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
