Salary: £43,764.00 per annum
Length of Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 18 Months
About the role
This is a pivotal role to support our ambition to build an Age-friendly movement across the country. We have long recognised the importance of place-based approaches in helping people to age well, and have forged long term partnerships with Leeds, Greater Manchester, and Lincolnshire, as well as providing secretariat to the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities.
We want to build a legacy for our work in Leeds and so the postholder will continue to work with stakeholders in the city, to gather insight as well as share resources that have been developed to national audiences. In addition, the role will support the development of the Age-friendly movement, promoting and encouraging other places to adopt age-friendly approaches.
The end goal of this work is to ensure more people have an opportunity to enjoy a good later life, and to reduce inequalities in ageing.
The successful candidate will be experienced in and passionate about developing and delivering impact from learning and evidence. You’ll be highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to build effective relationships with a wide range of people at different levels.
Having just launched our new strategy, you will enjoy being part of a team that's developing around a new area of work, and able to adapt their approach to support this. This role is pivotal in helping us develop and demonstrate impact from our work in places and would suit someone with an excellent knowledge of local authorities and how they work, who is motivated to apply this in a national context.
A skillset and understanding of how evidence and learning can lead to change is therefore essential. You will also be passionate about equity and tackling the inequalities that prevent people from having a great later life.
