Job Title: Policy and Advocacy Officer

Working For: Hospice UK

Location: London

Salary: £28,365 per annum + excellent benefits

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Hospice UK is the national charity working for those experiencing dying, death and bereavement. We support more than 200 hospices and other end of life care providers nationwide, delivering care to around 300,000 people each year that is focused on the person and their family, combining medical, emotional, practical and spiritual support.

We help people and their families access the information they need, train nursing staff, improve palliative care in hospitals and care homes, and influence government decisions on death, dying and bereavement issues.

By driving innovation in care and tackling inequality in access, together we are making sure hospice and end of life care is available for everyone who needs it, wherever they are.

We are now looking for a Policy and Advocacy Officer. This is an important role for us at an exciting time in our development as we continue to deliver on our strategy to transform hospice and end of life care in the UK.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and curious about problem solving in a policy environment, comfortable with developing ideas from a range of sources and materials. You’re keen to find new opportunities and work collaboratively across teams. You will work on a range of projects, often at the same time, sometimes as the project leader and sometimes helping others. This will include working on our priority around achieving equality in access to care, as well as expanding our reach to parliamentarians.

You may have experience in a policy, public affairs or research role and looking for the next step in your career in a thriving area, or have developed relevant skills that you are excited to bring to a new position.
