Job Title: Impact producer x 2: Environment and Global Health
Working For: Bureau of Investigative Journalism
Length of Contract: Two/three years (with potential to be extended)
The Bureau of Investigative Journalism is expanding and we are looking for two energetic and creative people to help drive change through our journalism. Impact is at the heart of the Bureau’s work and the impact producer roles ensure that their team’s reporting makes a tangible difference – that it is not just confined to the pages of a newspaper or a television screen but reaches those who can use it, in the right format at the right time.
We are recruiting one impact producer to our environment team and another to our global health team. Our award-winning environmental project investigates the impacts of the global food supply chain on our climate, ecosystems and communities. Our global health team carries out collaborative cross-border investigations into systemic global health issues.
We are looking for people with at least three years experience in a related field, e.g. engaged journalism, campaigning, impact production in documentary film. You will be passionate about driving positive change through collaborative journalism, and about reimagining what journalism could and should look like. You will have a keen interest in power structures, visible and hidden, and how to work strategically and thoughtfully within them. You will be a great people person and communicator.
