Oxford & District Labour are recruiting a new assistant organiser to work on the 2021 Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council Elections. The Assistant Organiser will assist the Local Organiser in mobilising local members and supporting Labour candidates in campaigning to extend Labour’s control of Oxford City Council and make gains on Oxfordshire County Council within the City in the May 2021 Local Elections.
The Assistant Organiser will report to and be managed by Oxford & District Labour Party Local Organiser, Brad Baines.
This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to gain some paid work-experience in election campaigning with an effective and successful local party, with a strong national reputation. This position would suit someone interested in pursuing a career in public or electoral campaigns, but this is not a prerequisite.
The temporary post will be for 15 weeks starting on 11th February 2021 or shortly afterwards and end mid-May after the elections, which take place on Thursday 6th May 2021.
Hours of work are 37.5 per week and are flexible with a lot of weekend and evening working. Paid holiday entitlement will be 28 days pro rata.
The salary is on the Labour Party mobilisation assistant scale - pro rata to £20,366.82.
The Assistant Organiser will be based at the Oxford & District Labour Party Office, Unit A, Bishops Mews, Transport Way, Oxford OX4 6HD.

Interviews will be on Friday 18th or Saturday 19th December 2020 on Zoom. The temporary post will be for 15 weeks starting on 11th February 2021 or shortly afterwards and end mid-May after the elections, which take place on Thursday 6th May 2021.
