This role will focus on a project centered around the UN Generation Equality Forum process and Action Coalitions. The project is aimed at supporting public servants in the effective implementation of country commitments on gender equity. Your role will be to produce content for 3 courses focused on (a) Gender-based violence, (b) Bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SHRH) and (c) Economic justice and rights. You’ll work with our instructional designer, community managers and gender experts to develop bite-sized, practical and pedagogically-designed content that public servants can readily utilize in their work.

The successful candidate will be independent and capable of working remotely, an ability to translate complex policy concepts into clear and engaging writing to allow public servants to learn and have a sharp eye for relevant stories, and ideally have some experience in gender equity work.

You will get an opportunity to learn about trends in global policy and be part of a fast-growing company that wants to change the way government works for the better. We are looking for someone to start immediately or as soon as possible.

This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract until Dec 21 and candidates will need a right to work in the UK.

Required skills and attributes:

  • Two to four years experience in policy and/or journalistic writing
  • Strong writing, editing and interview skills
  • Experience and/or interest in developing skills in learning content and pedagogy
  • Some interest in and understanding of policy and government, especially gender policy
  • Comfortable and confident working with top policymakers and policy experts, and experience commissioning and editing opinion pieces is a plus
  • Experience with writing based on data analysis is a plus
  • Desire to work flexibly in a fast-changing environment
  • Native-level written and spoken English, and the ideal candidate can speak and write in French or Spanish. German or Portuguese language proficiency is a plus
