Job Title: Campaign volunteers
Working For: Bromsgrove Conservatives
After a successful summer volunteer scheme, the Conservative Party in Bromsgrove is looking for campaign volunteers to assist with the running of the campaign office in the run-up to 2019 and gain an overview of local politics, election campaigning, and professional office experience. Volunteers will report to the Campaign Manager and will help manage the production of campaign materials, election data management, fundraising and membership administration.
The experience is particularly useful for a current student or new graduate who may be looking to enhance their CV with hands-on political experience with the Conservative Party. The specific tasks to be undertaken will vary– they may include, but not be limited to:
• Inputting of data from surveys and general data management
• Helping with canvassing, data collection and other campaigning
• Monitoring local press and local news
• Assisting with management of social media
• Volunteer engagement and recruitment
• Literature production and distribution
The Conservative Party is a voluntary organisation and the role advertised is a voluntary one. There are no set hours and responsibilities and you are free to come and go as you wish.
The Conservative office is located in Bromsgrove town centre, around 30-45 minutes by train from Birmingham or 40-50 minutes by public transport from Worcester. The local party provides reasonable travel and refreshment expenses to volunteers.
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish. If the post demands set hours and/or has a specific job description you may be deemed to be a ‘worker’ and be covered by National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage legislation.
