Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent upon experience
The Aldersgate Group is an alliance of leaders from business, politics and civil society that drives action for a sustainable and competitive economy. Our members include some of the largest businesses in the UK from a wide range of economic sectors with a collective global turnover of over £400bn. Other members include leading NGOs, professional institutes, public sector bodies, trade bodies and politicians from across the political spectrum.
We are politically impartial and champion the important role of the business sector in moving the UK towards a low carbon economy that is both energy and resource efficient.
With significant policy development opportunities ahead in implementing the Clean Growth Strategy, Industrial Strategy and 25 Year Environment Plan, influencing resource efficiency policy in the UK and EU and developing our green finance policy proposals, we are creating a new position for a Policy Officer who will report to the Acting Policy Manager (covering a maternity leave) and bolster the capacity for the Aldersgate Group to make the case for key policy proposals.
The successful candidate will join a small Secretariat to provide day to day policy support for the Aldersgate Group members, Board and rest of the Secretariat.
The role is for a one year, fixed term, full time (40 hours per week) contract, with the possibility of extension should funding allow. The Policy Officer will report to the Acting Policy Manager and work in partnership with the Communications Officer and Executive Director.
