Integrity was founded in 2014 as a unit within the International Centre for Integration & Cohesion. Our aim is to ensure that the MENA region is represented and analysed in an impartial, unbiased and nuanced manner, in order to provide the world with a clearer perspective on current affairs.
Integrity UK is recruiting for a part-time, flexible hours Media Analyst for its Arab Media Monitoring Hub. As this is a voluntary role there are no fixed hours or responsibilities. Nonetheless, Interns play a vital role in the organisation and there will be plenty of opportunities for career and personal development.
Some possible tasks may include: Writing short pieces on events in the Middle East; monitoring several Middle Eastern based media outlets; providing punctual translations of selected footage from Arabic into English; subtitling videos; and where needed, providing assistance to other team members on different projects.
This internship is well suited for someone who wants to broaden and expand their knowledge of current affairs in the MENA region, and develop their research, writing and language skills.
- Good knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region
- Strong Arabic language skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a small team
- Flexible approach to work and ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Knowledge of events in Iraq and Syria
The role being advertised is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours and responsibilities and you should be free to come and go as you wish.
