Location: Burkina Faso, Ghana, Rwanda, Malawi

An International Citizen Service Team Leader placement is an incredible opportunity to build on existing skills and gain new ones while supporting diverse teams of young people working on real development projects fighting poverty in world’s poorest communities.
As an ICS Team Leader, you’ll spend six months in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Rwanda or Malawi offering pastoral support to small groups of volunteers aged 18-25 from the UK and the country that you’re in. You’ll have a local counterpart to share responsibilities as you guide your teams through their time in country.
There’s a project management element to the role but the most important thing is the wellbeing of the ICS team, and doing everything you can to help young people from diverse backgrounds work well together.
Being a Team Leader can be a demanding role and as such requires more experience than a being a team member. Team Leaders should:
- Be aged 23-35
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Have a clear interest in international development work
- Be responsible, organised and good at taking the initiative
- Some placements also require fluent Spanish or French
