Business Development Manager
We are recruiting for a Business Development Manager, supporting the Head of Emerging Markets and Director of Strategy and Business Development with all Business Development Activities. This role will help identify, target and respond to new market opportunities in line with the UK Strategic Plan.
As a Business Development Manager it is your responsibility to drive new business through the organisation, develop relationships with government departments and other potential customers to shape our understanding of key future opportunities and increase awareness of the MAXIMUS businesses. Identification of delivery models, partnerships and supply chain strategies that support competitive proposals and effective service delivery, high quality writing of client facing materials to drive/support the sales and bidding process. Building and maintaining relationships with the internal MAXIMUS leadership teams through highly effective briefing processes. Gaining internal commitment to the market and any upcoming tender processes, with an understanding of competitive markets and the ability to work to challenging deadlines. Providing competitor intel to drive our operational and commercial strategies.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a business development/sales-focused role within public sector, e.g. welfare to work, justice, health, defence.
Furthermore it is imperative the successful candidate has the following traits:

A natural rapport builder and exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
A creative thinker who can think outside of the box for improved solutions and performances
An active listener who absorbs information and can communicate back successfully
