Working For: International Service ICS
Location: Burkina Faso, Ghana and Rwanda
Charity Number: 1069182
Salary: Voluntary. All costs for the placement covered. £800 fee to fundraise before departure
International Service is offering fully-funded volunteer work placements for 6 months in Burkina Faso, Ghana and Rwanda as part of the International Citizen Service (ICS) programme.
An International Citizen Service Team Leader placement is an incredible opportunity to build on existing skills and gain new ones while supporting diverse teams of young people working on real development projects fighting poverty in world’s poorest communities.
As an ICS Team Leader you’ll spend six months in Ghana, Burkina Faso or Rwanda offering pastoral support to small groups of volunteers aged 18-25 from the UK and the country that you’re in. You’ll have a local counterpart to share responsibilities as you guide your teams through their time in country.
There’s a project management element to the role but the most important thing is the wellbeing of the ICS team and doing everything you can to help young people from different backgrounds work well together.
All Team Leaders need to have some experience of leading and supporting diverse groups of young people. You must be aged between 23 and 35, with strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
